I woke up this morning and went on a walk with my mom on Ball State’s campus. I brought Kip along and he was hyped as always to see my mom. We walked around the campus for about 30 minutes before it started thundering and sprinkling, so we ran half way back. Kip, my border collie/ australian shepherd was so confused as to why we were running! My mom, Jennifer was in her work clothes which made us running with a dog even more hilarious! We got to the car and the rain broke loose! It started pouring and we headed back to my Jeep. She dropped Kip and I off and she headed back to work. I got in my Jeep seat which was half wet, due to me leaving down the window! (Silly me) I headed home and rummaged through my fridge and cabinet to find expired eggs, moldy bread, and nothing I wanted to eat! I fixed some sausage sandwiches and granola cereal (The healthiest thing I could find in my kitchen) I sat down and ate while my boyfriend headed off to his job. I made a list of foods that I need to buy that are actually healthy, I looked at Pinterest for some healthy inspiration. After I finished my lunch I decided to do an abs and butt workout, which felt like it lasted for ever! I decided that I need to start taking better care of myself, not just because of my type 1 diabetes, but because I want to feel healthy and more confident. I started in on my workout. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiZrPa9Z5M5lUGbZcTnFEVpfZ46IduZlw

I don’t have any of the equipment that she had so I substituted some of the workouts for similar workouts. After 12 minutes I was drenched in sweat and my entire body was burning. It felt good to workout again, and I want to create some kind of schedule that will make me stick to it. On Pinterest I created a board called “Body”, here is a link to the board. Feel free to pin any of the pins and send interesting pins to me! https://www.pinterest.com/kylatighe/body/

I know today’s article was not focused directly on type 1 diabetes, but daily living is part of my diabetes journey so I thought I would share with everyone! I feel so refreshed this evening while I sit at work, and I can not wait to start on this workout journey! Also here is a list of the healthy foods that I will be buying at the grocery in the next couple days, as well as a smoothie maker!

That’s a great list! I’m a T1D and also a health food nut! If you ever want to collaborate on healthy eating, let me know! I always love new food ideas that won’t leave me at 300 after I eat. 🙂
